Founders: Know where you rank, and show it
Replace "we are growing fast" with a public, comparable number and a category rank.
When does this come up?
Before a fundraise, a partnership pitch or a board meeting.
What is the mental model?
Say where you rank, against whom, and what the gap to the next name is made of.
- Signal: Your Dawn score and demand
- Filter: Your category, batch or market
- Decision: Where do we stand, and what is the gap?
- Action: A public link for the deck
How does this work in DawnTrend?
- Search your own name: Type your brand into the search box. A name we have not seen is identified once, with its official site and products, then added to the index.
- Read your rank: Your page shows your score and your rank among companies in your category, batch or market.
- Look at the gap: Compare with the brand one rank above you: is the gap in demand, in growth or in how many visitors come back by name?
- Share it: A brand page is a public link you can put in a deck, with its data source stated.

What does this cost to run?
A free account has 2,000 API calls and 250 search credits a day. Reads from the index use no search credits.
| Step | Call | Calls | Search credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find your brand | GET /dawn/find?q=resend | 1 | 0 |
| Read your page | GET /brand?slug=resend | 1 | 0 |
| Whole workflow | 2 | 0 |
What does this not tell you?
- If your name is also an everyday word, searches for it are not all about you, and we hold the score back rather than guess.
- It measures attention, not revenue or retention.
How do I get the same data as JSON?
GET /api/v1/brand?slug=your-brand. Free accounts get an API key.
